Someone once said that life itself was modeled after the game of billiards, that long before our Mother Earth was formed out of the chaos of this universe. The gods played pool, using planets as balls and black holes as pockets. They might not have been playing nine ball, maybe just a very early version of straight pool, but the scores ran high and the consequences of each shot were monumental.

Well, the stakes aren't quite that high in the pool room at The Back Door. The players are there primarily for the fun, camradery and competition that makes this one of the most welcoming pool facilities in the city.

The Back Door has a large and comfortable pool room, with 6 full size, regula

tion tables in a spacious room specifically set aside for pool and billiards. Serious and casual pool players play side-by-side in a well lighted and colorful atmosphere.

Monday evenings are especially popular for pool players at The Back Door. That's the evening set aside for league play in the Metro Pool League. This is an amateur pool league for the novice, mid-level and advanced players. Handicap play enables beginners to better compete with more seasoned players.

The league was designed mainly for the members to have fun and meet new people with the added component of competition. All the prize money stays with the local league. Competition includes men and women. Handicaps are based on level of skill and proven ability. The Back Door is home to the Metro Pool League.
